Royal Enfield has launched the highly anticipated Shotgun 650 in India in the first month of 2024, following a glimpse during the November 2023 MotoVibes event. Priced at a starting point of 3.59 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), the Shotgun 650 becomes the fourth model in the company’s 650cc lineup, joining the Interceptor, Continental GT, and Super Meteor.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Price and Color Variants

Positioned between the Continental GT and Super Meteor in terms of pricing, the Shotgun 650 is available in four color variants: Sheet Metal Grey (3.59 lakh rupees), Plasma Blue (3.70 lakh rupees), Drift Green (3.70 lakh rupees), and Stencil White (3.73 lakh rupees).

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Design

The Shotgun 650 features a mix of retro-futuristic design with modern features. Similar to the Super Meteor, the Shotgun boasts a low-slung stance, but it has a shorter wheelbase compared to its cruiser sibling. Visual highlights include a hard front rake, gloss black engine cover, spoke alloy wheels, twin peashooter exhaust mufflers, compact front and rear fenders, and a broad, flat handlebar.

Unlike the traditional cruiser setup with a 19-inch front and 16-inch rear wheel on the Super Meteor, the Shotgun 650 comes with an 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. It sports a higher seat at 795mm compared to the 740mm seat on the Super Meteor. Additionally, it features a small 13.8-liter fuel tank. The Shotgun 650 weighs 1 kg less than the flagship cruiser, coming in at 240 kg.

The Shotgun 650 is equipped with semi-digital instrumentation, Bluetooth connectivity for trip navigation, LED lighting, and a USB charging port, similar to the Super Meteor 650. It also benefits from the new Royal Enfield Vingman app, providing information such as live location, fuel and engine oil levels, service reminders, and more.

In terms of hardware, the Shotgun 650 features a 43mm upside-down front fork with large piston and twin-tube 5-step preload-adjustable RSU at the rear for suspension. It comes with 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. The braking system includes a 320mm disc brake on the front wheel and a 300mm disc brake on the rear wheel, supported by dual-channel ABS.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Engine Specification

Powering the Shotgun 650 is a 649cc air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine that generates 47 bhp of power and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch.

The Shotgun 650 seems to offer a unique blend of modern features and classic cruiser aesthetics, expanding Royal Enfield’s 650cc lineup.
